Abian Kusuma Sari Coffee Plantation

Came here as part of my Klook sunrise tour and it was a surprisingly enjoyable stop. All the tester drinks are free, and a cup of luwak coffee costs 65k. The teas were honestly the highlight for me. Normally with “natural” teas you only get a faint hint of flavor, but here the taste was strong and full-bodied. They actually grind real fruits like lemon and mangosteen into powder and mix it into the tea, so you get that deep, rich flavor instead of just scented hot water. Really impressive, especially for free samples. I also tried the luwak coffee, and it was good—very strong and heavy-bodied, with a bold taste that lingers. It’s definitely something to try at least once. The other flavored coffees, though, were just okay. A few of them tasted more like sweetened coffee drinks rather than having a distinct flavor. Fun to try, but nothing special compared to the teas or the luwak coffee. There’s no pushy selling here, which I appreciated. You can taste everything and leave if you want. I did end up buying some tea to bring home, and the staff seemed extra pleased about it. Prices are around 185k for a 500g bag of coffee or tea. I don’t remember the exact price of the luwak coffee, just that it was quite expensive, and you can definitely find it cheaper elsewhere. They sell other things like massage oils, essential oils, perfumes etc too. We came around 8am and were the first customers of the day. The whole place was quiet and peaceful, with cool, breezy weather and a rural, laid-back vibe. Sitting there with a cup of tea felt very calm and relaxing, almost like a little reset before the rest of the tour. Toilets are about as clean as you’d expect for a plantation setting—not spotless, and there were some insects and flies around, so just keep that in mind. Overall, this is a nice place to drop by for a chill tea and coffee session. Great atmosphere, strong flavorful teas, and a chance to try luwak coffee in its “home” setting. Worth a short visit if it’s included in your tour.

Our guided tour was fascinating: we learned about each stage of coffee production—from nurturing the coffee, cocoa, vanilla, and spice plants, to harvesting and roasting. The knowledgeable guide explained the unique civet (luwak) coffee process, and we even got to see the civet in person . The tasting session was impressive—sampling around a dozen varieties of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate including unique flavors like avocado coffee and pandanus tea. Each sip was delicious and delightful . The staff were welcoming and informative, creating a relaxed atmosphere. We didn’t feel pressured to buy anything, though we did pick up some cassava chips, artisanal oils, and coffee as souvenirs . Visited Abian Kusumasari Coffee Plantation recently, and it was such an amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about their products. They guided us through the different types of coffee they offer and gave us generous samplings of each, it felt like a mini coffee adventure! I absolutely fell in love with the vanilla coffee, it’s now my all-time favorite. The flavor was rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced, making it a real treat for any coffee lover. Beyond the taste, the staff also took the time to explain how their civet coffee is made, giving us insight into the fascinating process behind this unique and rare coffee. The attention to detail and passion they have for their craft really stood out. The plantation itself is beautiful and serene, making the visit not just about tasting coffee, but also about enjoying the surroundings and learning about the process from bean to cup. Overall, Abian Kusumasari Coffee Plantation is a must-visit for anyone in Bali, whether you’re a coffee enthusiast or simply curious about unique coffee experiences. I left with my new favorite vanilla coffee and wonderful memories of a truly immersive and delicious experience!

An absolute gem in Bali! Dewa did such a fantastic job showing me the different plants and fruits they have growing around the plantation, and explaining the health benefits of different teas and coffees. After the tour, you get to try a variety of teas and coffees (and quite a substantial amount!) with delicious cassava chips to much on as you try the different drinks. I was a solo traveler and Dewa sat down with me to keep me company as I tried the different drinks, and took pictures of me as well. It felt like catching up with a friend at a beautiful outdoor cafe, and I loved their rosella tea so much I bought one to take home with me. I highly recommend this place for their hospitality and delicious coffees and teas!
